What I Miss Most
Since quarantine has started, there are a lot of things that I have started to really miss. I miss going outside all the time, (I do still go out a bit, but not nearly as much as I used to, and never with other people.) I really miss school, which is not something I thought I would ever say, but online classes are not my favourite, and I really wish I could be going to school and sitting in class rather than at home at my computer. I miss both of these things, but what I miss most is definitely my friends. Even though my friends and I talk all the time and still have found ways to play games online, it really is not the same as spending time with them face to face. I really did not realize how much time I spent with my friends before quarantine, but as it turns out, it was a lot. We spent time together during classes at school, between classes, at lunch, walking home from school, and on weekends as well. I cannot remember the last time we all hung out together. It was probably over a month and a half ago. Although, I know that I am very lucky, and this situation could be a lot worse. Currently I am feeling very grateful for the internet- if I had no internet there would be no way to talk to my friends or see them at all. So, I am quite happy that we still get to hang out and play games over the internet.
Another thing I miss about my friends is the movie nights we always had. Before this whole coronavirus started, my friends and I would do movie nights at each other's houses almost every weekend. We would eat a bunch of snacks and we would usually watch a horror movie, which would inevitably leave us terrified, but we still had a lot of fun and shared a lot of laughs and inside jokes. Since quarantine has started, I have realized how much more fun it is watching movies with other people. Even though I do not pay attention to most of it when I am with my friends, and we talk over it and end up having to go back to rewatch what we missed, I would rather that than fully understand and pay attention to the movie by myself. Another thing that sucks is that it was my birthday during this quarantine. Having my birthday just made me miss my friends even more, (if that is even possible) because I would have had a party, but quarantine wouldn't allow it. I did get to see my friends from a distance, but it was not the same as having a party with all my friends there at once. I am hoping that quarantine will end soon so I can go outside and see my friends and watch a movie. British Columbia is starting to flatten the curve so that is looking more likely to happen every day!
